Throughout what I read this time around, Eddie has learned a lot and a lot has also happened. When Eddie was going to meet his next special person in heaven he thought that it would be his father. When he tried to go into the diner and realized that he could go to talk to his dad, the older women, Ruby, had told him that his father doesn't even know that he is there. That turned out to be that that was the next person he was suppose to meet in heaven. Ruby was talking a little about her life story and said many things. She talks about how Ruby pier was named after her because the man at the diner who liked her, turned out to be very wealthy and he was the person that made ruby pier as good as it can be. When one day disaster happened and ruby's husband had lost his park through flames that is also how he lost his death. After explaining his story, Eddie was still confused. He still didn't know how she knew him. She then told him that she always seen him in the diner and on the pier for a very long time since she was the waitress. Then that's when She told Eddie the story about mickey, Eddie's mom and Eddies father. She told him that when Mickey was at Eddie's mother and father house, Mickey almost hurt his mother. Eddie's father had saw what happened started chasing Mickey to possibly try and kill him. Mickey then ends up falling off the pier into the sea and Eddie's father saves his life. After saving his life, Eddie's father, who is in his fifties, ends up catching pneumonia which later kills him. Through her showing him this horrific scene, she wanted him to see that even though mickey did something to Eddie's mother that should have made him get killed, Eddies father ends up saving his life. HE wanted Eddie to learn the lesson of loyalty.
This part of the book showed transcendentalism in some ways. when ruby said "His body had been weakened, the ocean had left him vulnerable, pneumonia took hold of him, and in time, he died." "Because of mickey?" Eddie said, "Because of loyalty" she said. I felt this particular part related to transcendentalism because it is showing how people value other life's because of the affect that that person had throughout their lives rather than just the spur of the moment. Like Eddie's father Could have killed Mickey just because of what happened at that particular moment, But because of What mickey did for them which was give them money, get Eddie's father his job, help the family when needed, Eddie's father ended up being loyal to him still and saving his life.
I wonder if the next person he meet would try and teach him something that also is strongly related to loyalty. I feel that if he learns more about that then he will start to value 5the things that he did in his life, and learn that the things he ha done, all had a purpose. Throughout the whole book so far i really feel like it relates to transcendentalism just because it talks about the value of life and how everybody is connected to each other one way or the other.

During the reading Eddie was talking to his army unit captain and the captain was explaining to Eddie about what had happened in the fire incident. The captain aid that after they had escaped those crazy guards they wanted to burn the place down, so what they did was burn a big barn down. While ti was on fire Eddie kept saying that he had saw a small child-like figure in the burning flames. Eddie said that he thought of his cousins by the pier when he saw the figure like shape because he had been so used to seeing grown men. So he kept resisting his friends from trying to stop him so he can save the child that he swore he kept seeing. So that is when he got shot by the captain not knowing that he did it. He then woke up after being dazed and traumatized for days. After the captain told Eddie that it was him that had shot him, they started fighting. after the fight the captain then said that he did it so he could save Eddie life. He was saying that Eddie was to strong and tough to hold back so he said he shot Eddie's leg so he can save his life. After the whole story and incident he then told Eddie why he was there and what he was doing there for Eddie's purpose. he was there so he can teach Eddie about sacrifice. he was talking about how life is a sacrifice and how when live a new day based on the yesterdays, and how life on earth is just the beginning. After he had old him this, Eddie had asked why the captain was here out of all places. And then the captain started to show Eddie how the earth and that particular area was before the war had happened. he was trying to show him how the grass was green and how beautiful nature was. Than that's when the captain had disappeared once Eddie had looked away.
The part where the captain says "dying? not the end of everything. we think it is. But what happens on earth is only the beginning." i feel that it connects to transcendentalism. I say that because he makes so that god is giving us this perception that after death that's it but really it isn't. There is a whole new life that awaits us but since we are on earth we don't realize nor experience it. Also when talks about Adam and how he thought that once he went to sleep that was the end of his life but really when he wakes up, he has a whole new world, with also his yesterday's to look back on. This is showing how Our perception of life is what it is until we go through lessons of what life is really about and what the real perception of life, death, and after life is really about.
One thing that gets me is why is everything connecting back to that pier? I feel like every act that Eddie does in the book so far it's either because he was thinking of the pier and what he use to do their or because he used to do it back in the pier. Like he was trying so hard to go to the barn and save the "child" just off the strength that it reminded him of his cousins that used to be on their with him. or like when he used juggling, also something that he learned on the pier, to get out and escape and kill the guards at the mine cave. Even though they didn't say it yet in the book, i feel that the pier is going to end up connecting back to all of this stuff that going on with Eddie in heaven. And lastly, I wonder if the last person he meets in heaven is the little girl that he thinks he saves? If it is do you think that she is going to tell him what had happened and if he had saved her or not? And if he did save her, how she ended up in heaven?

box and whiskers 5-7
The box and whiskers for students who enjoy English and students who enjoy history seem to show different measures of students focus in class. While most of the students in English are focusing from a range of 30 minutes to 45 minutes, students in history aren't. Most of he students are able to focus from 30 minutes to 50 minutes. Not that the ranges the students had werent good, it's just that the english students are able to focus for a wider spread of time then the students who enjoy history the most. This box and whiskers plot is also showing how students that enjoy english the most have a larger minimum amount of time focused. The outliers in the history class has a minimum of 10 minutes focused in class while the students in the english class have a minimum of 25 minutes focused in class. This is showing that the measure of focus in the English class is much higher then the measure of focus in the history class.
Histograms 5-7
Also seen in these two graphs, it shows how students who enjoy history the best are able to focus more than students who English the most. While 87% of the history students are able to focus for more than half the class period, only 83% of the students who enjoy english the most are able to focus for more than half the class period which is 60 minutes. Even though the history students are able to focus more longer than the english kids, they have the same peak. the students who enjoy english the most and students who enjoy history the most both have peaks of 40 minutes to 49 minutes. This tells us that they both have equal capabilities at acheiving a certain measure of focus. Even though their peaks are the same, students who enjoy history the most have at least 2 people who are able to pay attention for the whole 60 minutes of the class while there are no kids who are able to do that in the English class.

the five people you meet in heaven
The section that we had to read from, pages 39 to 79, it was basically about how the blue man tried to explain to him that one story has two experiences and perspectives to it. He was was saying how Eddie was the cause of his death. He explained Eddies side of the story as his ball going in the middle of the road and how he almost got hit by the car. But Blue mans perspective is different due to the fact that he was the one driving the car that Eddie almost got hit by. He explained his perspective of what had happened by talking about how when he was driving he almost hit a kid and that had made him build up adrenaline to the point where he had fainted behind the wheel. That was when we his car was flipping over and he had slowly died. He was just explaining to him on how one story can have different perspectives. While Eddie was playing catch with his baseball, The blue man was going through a horrible incident. This is when Eddie had met the second person in heaven, which was his unit captain in the army. He was basically explaining everything he knew from the army and everything that he had learned from it. They was just talking about they had been captured in a gold mine and how Eddie used his juggling skills that he had learned in the pier to kill the four guards that were torturing them. He said that when he was juggling the rocks and throwing of them high in the air, it was amusing the guards. That was when they had moved in for their attack and they threw the rocks at them and smashed their ribs and their heads with the rocks and bayonet that one of the guards had with them.
In what we had read I didn't really think their was much transcendentalism. I feel one particular section had something to do with it and connected with it a little but that's about it. The part I was talking about was when the blue man was explaining the different perspectives that one story can have and how it one story can have an outcome that was different then the other persons outcome that was also part of the story. I feel that had something to do with transcendentalism because The blue man was trying to explain how you are able to look at one story in many different views. He was trying to explain how life and death just happens. That's why everybody gathers around when some one is born and when some one dies.
When the blue man says "But there is a balance to it all.One withers, another grows.Birth and death are apart of a whole.", I feel this is what I've been trying to get at. What I feel he means by this is that everything happens for a reason. there is going to be a time when its your turn to go, but at that same moment its that time when a new born baby is born. That's why I feel this relates to transcendentalism because looking at life and death in a deeper meaning like this makes it be looked at in a different perspective. It was Eddies fault that The blue man died, it was just his time to go, it's left up to god when that time is.
